Homestead 180

Our Story.

The story of this farm has evolved over the years. Starting with a core group of friends, the collective now spans a few different community networks in the Metro Atlanta area and beyond. The consilience formed through this collective is genuine, and has been guided by shared principles. We find ourselves at the intersection of the old and new world; learning and sharing along the way.

Our original farmer, Farmer Tone, has steadfastly incorporated old practices such as Milpa and farming in Hausaland, Nigeria as much as Dr. Mary Cole's more contemporary soil biology research. Experts in ancient practices such as Qi Gong, Breath Work Meditation, Sound Bowl Massage and Capoeira D' Angola have come up to the homestead to share and learn as well.

As we learn, we are always looking for innovative ways to share out in digestible ways with our broader network. At times, in bite-size newsletters and at others, a full-course meal at the farmhouse.

Membership is the vehicle with which we transfer what we are doing, what we have learned, and where our collective future is heading.
